guest account question


1. How can I use Guest Account?

  • Double click My Computer icon and select Dial-up Networking
  • On Dial-up Networking menu, double click on Melsa or Melsa-i-net dial up setting
  • In the username field, type guest, and in the password field, type melsa
  • Connect to Melsa - dial to 4217030
  • Open Internet Explorer, go to http://members.melsa.net.id
  • In Member Area choose the menu Online Payment to buy additional hour, pay monthly fee or check usage.


2. I have established my connection using Guest Account but cannot open http://members.melsa.net.id. Why?

Make sure your proxy server has been deactivated.Check your proxy setting as follow : For Internet Explorer 5 and above:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Click Tools menu and choose Internet Options
  • Click Connection tab
  • Choose Melsa or Melsa-I-net in "Dial-up Setting"
  • Click setting button
  • Make sure that "Use proxy server" is off


    For Netscape Navigator 4.08, Netscape Communicator 4.73 :

  • Open Netscape Navigator or Netscape Communicator
  • Click Edit menu and choose preferences
  • Choose Advanced and click "+" in Category Menu
  • Choose Proxies
  • Click "Direct connection to the internet" button
  • Make sure that "Manual proxy configuration " is off
  • If you install the connection kit from Melsa's CD, do the setting as follows :

    make sure that "bypass proxy server for local (intranet) addresses" option is active and click advanced.
    In "do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with" option fill with *.melsa.net.id


3. Will my usage hour be deducted while using Guest Account?

No. Your usage hour will not be deducted since you are login under different account (with user id : guest)
