I choose two stories about Bandung:
- from historical point of view and
- a traveller point of view.
You can check each of them. I also have some pictures about Bandung now.
A Brief History of Bandung by LSAI, a group of architects who works on preserving historical buildings (architecture preservation). Too bad the page is deleted. I will look for another place where we can read another history about Bandung. Anyways, I looked for and scanned several pictures taken by Krisna Satmoko, a Bandung photographer. Most of his pictures about the old buildings are taken from detail perspective. You can see them in this Old Bandung page. I thank Krisna for his permission in using his pictures here.
Charles Gimon , a net writer. I think he likes the idea of becoming a Jawa person. He travelled several cities in Java island and wrote it in his page. He also visited Bandung and the area around the city, write a little about it and took some nice pictures. I think he better come and visit my home-village in West Sumatra for his next trip.
Little Pei, the moi. I also took some pictures about
Bandung, to complement Charles' pictures. You can see the big differences about the
old Bandung and the 'new' Bandung. I am afraid Bandung
will become another Jakarta in the next ten years or so.
